Campaign Management in Google AdWords: what is it?
Google Ads is an extremely effective platform that can be utilized for many business purposes, not limited to SEO or PPC. But how can you utilize the platform for your business purposes? There are several questions that are asked to know this.
Today, we will be covering about Google Ads Shopping Campaign Management that is a campaign management service by Google for your shopping ads. Google has launched the service in 2017 with a new brand name, “Campaign Manager”, which is very effective.
So, what is Google Ads Campaign Management?
In simple words, Google Ads Campaign Manager is a platform by Google for managing all your accounts and campaigns in Google Ads. Campaign manager enables you to create, edit, view and manage all your ad campaigns that are for different platforms.
In Google Ads, you can manage your account with 3 basic options such as Create, Edit and Preview. However, with the newly launched Google Ads Campaign manager, you can manage all your ad campaigns at one place with its own separate dashboard.
The advantage of the Google Ads Campaign manager is that it allows users to manage all your accounts at a single place.
Campaigns
Campaigns are for setting up a common group of ad configurations, such as an ad campaign and ad group, which are used to create a number of different ad variations.
Ad Campaign
An ad campaign is a method for defining and tracking your spending to be more effective. Through ad campaigns, you can create variations of ad layouts, landing pages, bid options and other ad settings.
Ad Group
Ad groups are used to separate your accounts and the ads within your accounts to make them easily identifiable.
For an example, if you want to track 3 different countries for your ads, you can separate the accounts with ad groups. It also increases the quality and helps in tracking the conversions.
You can create as many ad campaigns and groups as you want, but each should be in its own tab, as you cannot use more than 25 campaigns or groups per tab in the current implementation.
You can go back to the settings page to manage your accounts individually.
Impressions
Impressions are how much views an ad got for a given period of time. Google tells us that a conversion is a user who completes the desired action in your ad on your website.
Impressions are how many times an ad is clicked or displayed to users. The most important thing about impression metrics is to calculate your cost-per-action (CPA).
Clicks
A click is defined as a user who clicks on the ad or the call to action in the ad. The number of clicks you get is dependent on your ad creative, the type of user, the quality of the product, your landing page and other factors.
Clicks can only be seen in the campaign tab. If you want to manage them individually for each of your ads, you can go to the ad set for that particular ad, where the impressions are listed.
The clicks are based on each conversion and show in your stats, not on the ads as a whole.
Clicks should be tracked on the landing page as well. You should also check the landing page analytics to find out whether a person has clicked or not.
Views
Views are how many times a given ad has been viewed. It is one of the best metrics for measuring a successful campaign. You can track views by individual campaigns as well.
Views are calculated as a total, for the whole ad or per the account. You can always filter views in your ad set. It is a lot easier and more intuitive to go to your ad set and see the views in a single screen than to go to each of your ads individually to see the view counts.
